Fielding A Fly Ball
Catching a fly ball begins with the ready position.
- When the ball is in the air, run under control on the balls of the feet and with hands in.
- Run to the spot where they are under the ball then set hands slightly in front with their eyes on the ball.
- The catch is made at eye level in the palm of the glove and the cover hand is alongside to trap the ball in the glove.
- To finish the catch, bring both hands down into the body and begin the throwing progression.
